Experimental Building (EB2)

  • The experimental building is a fairly standard building, with two exceptions:
    – To access the internal experimental components we need to lower the outer vacuum vessel, demanding a deep basement.
    – It is important to keep ferromagnetic material many feet away from the Magnetic Shield Enclosure. As a result standard rebar cannot be used in the at-grade floor or the apparatus support columns and experimental access structures must be made from Aluminum
